The Sox

I'm not a native New Englander. But I was definitely pulling for the Sox last night in game 7. There's a fever out here that's so contagious. Folks here in Philly were howling in the streets, & jumping out of cabs to give high fivers to other Boston fans. The Tres Femmes gals and our buddies watched the whole showdown at an Irish pub off 15th street. Yeeeeeee-haw!

Philly!

I've been to Philly a few times, but it's always been in and out again. It's good to be back. When I think of Philly, I think of drag queens. It's an odd correlation. Susan Werner once mentioned finding the best clothing on South Street at all of the Drag Queen outfitters here.

Last night, Tres Femmes headlined here at THE FIRE. We were surprised to see a friendly face from Saratoga, NY - our buddy Bruce. Bruce's boss, Laura, accompanied him to the show, and offered to put us up in her beautiful downtown apartment.

After the show, we hightailed it the Lickety Split Open Mic to surprise the host, a college friend of ours named Katie Barbato Man, can she write!

Thanks to Bruce, Laura & Katie for making our Philly stay a friendly one. ;)

On The Move

I'm on the move with Victoria Vox and Stolie of Tres Femmes. We showcased on Saturday at the NACA Mid-Atlantic Conference here in Baltimore, MD which took place in the beautifully clean and touristy Inner Harbor area. There are many homeless here, huddled over steam grates for warmth at night. I feel lucky to have my car and so many friends on the road who are willing to take me in when I need a place to sleep.

Last night we got the low down on Baltimore and DC from our new pal, Steve. It all boiled down to one word: CRABS! I'm planning on asking Mary Mackinnon Boyd to route me down here in the summer so I can get me some. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Special thanks to our marvelous hostess in the Baltimore area, Rebecca! And to Jackie Burrows for introducing us!

Soon,
